Sustainability – Our Vegie Patch

As part of our curriculum focused on sustainable practices, we have fourteen raised garden beds that were constructed by our parents at a working bee. Each class has their very own garden bed to nurture and with the assistance of our parents, students  plant, maintain and harvest their freshly grown produce. Some of the vegetables and herbs are used in Donvale Junior Chef, and when supplies are bountiful, an impromptu farmers market might spring up as well! A 10 000 litre rainwater tank is also attached to the garden.
