Education Week this week saw Donvale Primary School open its door to all members of our community for Open Day. On Tuesday of this week, families and friends were welcomed to our school to see the wonderful learning opportunities we have available to all our students. Parents wandered in and out of our classrooms sharing in the learning journey with their children. It was just a joy to watch our students proudly displaying their learning to their families. Our Performing Arts program was once again on show as the choirs and bands displayed their amazing talents. The school itself is looking an absolute treat with particular thanks to the many parents who have worked on the school’s garden. The classrooms and corridors look amazing filled with the displays of the students’ achievements. The mosaic wall on the GP room is really now taking shape and is just an absolute work of art. It will be something that will be there forever and a fond memory of their school for our current students. Thank you to Peter Gray and the Warner family who once again supported us by providing lighting for us on the Open night. It looked fantastic and was quite spectacular. Also, thank you to the PA and other parents, in particular Jo Wood, who planned and provided the BBQ dinner for all of us on the night. It was delicious! Thank you to Liang and Martin Dimitroff and their team for the delicious offerings they made to all our visitors. What a wonderful treat it was to be greeted by our students sharing their excitement about our Junior Chef Program. Above all, a very big thank you to all the staff of Donvale PS who continuously advocate for our school in so many ways. The efforts of everyone made our Open Day such a special event.
