Sausage sizzles will take over from pork barrelling on federal election day, and Donvale Primary School has other fundraising plans to boot. The Elata St school is planning a car boot sale and coffee van on top of the traditional banger barbecue for voters making their way to the campus’ polling booth on September 7. Stacey Browne, the school’s parents’ association spokewwoman, said that day was a chance to raise funds for important projects such as upgrading the school toilet blocks, increasing shade areas and resurfacing the basketball court. “It is primarily about fundraising but we want to raise awareness about the school as well,” Ms Brown said. She said each class would have a stall and the school is selling space for the car boot sale to be held from 9.00am to 4.00pm for $25 a site. Details Phone 9842 3373.
